Amulet Technologies and Clicktouch team up with Cypress to Deliver Fully Integrated Capacitive Touchscreen Module for Appliance, Medical, and Industrial Markets

Campbell, CA – February 28, 2012 – Amulet Technologies, a recognized leader in graphical user interface (GUI) solutions for embedded systems, in partnership with Cypress Semiconductor Corp. and Clicktouch, one of Cypress’s design partners for touch solutions, is pleased to announce today the launch of its first off-the-shelf capacitive touchscreen module with integrated LCD and graphics controller. With capacitive touch, Amulet will be able to better serve its existing markets including appliance, medical, and industrial, as well as expand into new markets such as automotive, consumer, and gaming where interest for Amulet’s GUI technology has intensified in the last year.

Amulet’s standard GUI modules allow customers to easily replace outdated buttons and implement smartphone-like GUIs, making legacy products appear modern without having to change their existing microprocessor or modify the products’ functionality. The new fully integrated capacitive module includes Amulet’s GEM Graphical OS Chip™, a color TFT LCD, projected capacitive P-CAP touch sensor, and a pre-programmed Cypress TrueTouch® touchscreen controller. The unique design allows customers the freedom to provide their own cover glass without needing to customize the module. Using GEMstudio™, customers can create great looking GUIs quickly and easily, reducing time to market and overall development costs. GEMstudio provides gesture support (including multitouch gestures), and integrates tools for visual layout, interactive PC based simulation, and programming of the flash memory in the module.
