Since the calibration data is stored in the Atmel DataFlash, it is possible to potentially corrupt it by accidentally overwriting it by programming a µHTML™ file which is too big to be stored in the DataFlash. There are a couple of steps you can take in order to try and get the touchpanel working again.

For Color:

Step 1
For color, you can use a software command to jump to the touchpanel calibration page or flip the TCAL switch if you have an Amulet board. If the touchpanel still doesn't seem to respond correctly upon recalibrating it, proceed to the next step.
Step 2
Try reinstalling the Amulet OS since the calibration data might have been accidentally corrupted. Upon reloading the Amulet OS, you will be sent directly to the touchpanel calibration page.

For Monochrome:

Step 1
Try recalibrating the touchpanel if you haven't already done so.
Step 2
Try reinstalling the Amulet OS since the calibration data might have been accidentally corrupted. For instructions on restoring the Amulet OS for monochrome HTML Compiler:

  1. Go to File > Restore Amulet OS. Choosing this menu option opens the latest Amulet OS and then starts programming it into the Amulet's serial data flash.

  1. First load the file AmuletOSv3.3.5.uht from the \binaries\ subdirectory of the Amulet main directory. By default, the Amulet main directory is C:\Program Files\Amulet, however you may have specified a different path during the install.
  2. If the Amulet is currently "dead", put the Amulet module in program mode (DIP switch 1 to OFF in the 5.7" or remove the Boot M jumper in the 3.8") and hit the reset button.
  3. Next, program the file into Amulet Flash. After the OS is successfully loaded, the touchpanel calibration routine will appear. Before running the calibration routine, you must put the Amulet back in normal mode (DIP switch 1 to ON in the 5.7" or reinstall the Boot M jumper in the 3.8") After successfully calibrating the touchpanel, a screen allowing the setting of the display polarity appears. Hit the button to the right to toggle the display polarity.

Upon reloading the Amulet OS, you will be sent directly to the touchpanel calibration page.
